Pengelolaan Pelayanan dan Asuhan Keperawatan Klien dengan Gangguan Nyeri Menstruasi melalui Penerapan Terapi Kompres Hangat di Lingkungan I Kelurahan Padang Bulan

Abstract

Menstrual pain is commonly experienced in early adolescence with cramps in the abdomen radiating to the waist and legs. Menstrual pain can interfere with daily activities and is caused by various factors such as age, length of menstrual period or family history. One therapy that can help manage menstrual pain is warm compresses. The purpose of this senior practice is the management and nursing care services for clients with menstrual pain disorders through the application of warm compress therapy in Neighborhood I, Padang Bulan Village, Medan Baru District. Nursing care was carried out on June 9-13, 2025. The method used was pre-test, process and post-test. Warm compress interventions are carried out on clients aged 16 years, female gender, and high school education level. Client inclusion criteria often experience pain during menstruation. Pain measurement using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). The results of the application show a decrease in pain after a warm compress, which previously had a pain scale of 8 to 0 (no pain). Clients are also educated on how to manage menstrual pain and clients can do it. The conclusion is that the application of warm compresses can effectively reduce heavy client menstrual pain. It is necessary to educate adolescent clients by health workers who work in the local area along with family support in helping manage menstrual pain so that adolescents can fulfill their activities.
