| dc.description.abstract | This study aims to analyze the role of women in realizing family food security in Kolam Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency. The main focus of this research is to identify the role of women in realizing family food security, which includes the role and contribution of women to family food production, the role of women in family food procurement/provision, the role of women in the stability of the family food supply, obstacles affecting the role of women in supporting family food security, as well as an analysis of the concept of food security regarding the role of women in realizing family food security. This research is expected to contribute to understanding the role of women regarding family food security and serve as a consideration for the development of more inclusive and just policies. The approach used in the research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The results of the study show that women are involved in food production, processing, and distribution activities. Women not only produce food but are also the main caregivers responsible for the nutritional needs of all their family members. By nature, women, whether they act as housewives or heads of households, are the first to have a strategic role in the selection of food ingredients, management, and processing and serving for their family members. Women not only process food but must also participate in the agricultural production process to ensure economic access to food. | en_US |
