    Aktivitas Antioksidan Ekstrak Kulit Pisang Ambon (Musa paradisiaca L.) dari Berbagai Tingkat Kematangan dalam Menurunkan Glukosa Darah Mencit Penderita Diabetes

    Abstract
    Diabetes mellitus is one of a degenerative diseases that occur due to abnormalities of secretion and performance of insulin that are abnormal, causing hyperglycemia. This study was aimed to determine the activity of the albedo of ambon banana peel (200 mg/kgBW and 400 mg/kgBW for 14 days) in various level s of maturity (raw, immature, and mature) in reducing blood glucose level that mice model. The study consisted of three steps: (1) observation of the chemical characteristics of albedo banana peel and powder, (2) preparation of albedo banana peel and powder extract then analyzed antioxidant activity, and (3) in vivo test of powder of albedo banana peel extract which consisted of: P1 (control), P2 (STZ + 0,5% CMC 1%/kgBW), P3 (STZ + metformin 65 mg/kgBW), P4 and P5 (STZ + raw banana peel extract), P6 and P7 (STZ + immature banana peel extract), P8 dan P9 (STZ + mature banana peel extract). The result showed that the maturity level of banana peel had significant effect (P<0,01) on water content, ash, protein, fat, carbohydrates, crude fiber, total flavonoid, and antioxidant activity. Powder of mature albedo of ambon banana peel extract in 400 mg/kg dose had significantly best effect in reducing blood glucose levels of mice.
     
    Diabetes melitus merupakan salah satu penyakit degeneratif akibat kelainan pada sekresi dan kinerja insulin yang tidak optimal, sehingga menimbulkan hiperglikemia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas ekstrak albedo kulit pisang ambon (200 mg/kgBB dan 400 mg/kgBB selama 14 hari) pada berbagai tingkat kematangan (mentah, setengah matang, dan matang) dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah mencit percobaan. Penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga tahap, yaitu: (1) pengamatan karakteristik kimia albedo dan serbuk albedo kulit pisang, (2) pembuatan ekstrak albedo dan serbuk albedo kulit pisang kemudian analisis aktivitas antioksidan, dan (3) pengujian in-vivo ekstrak albedo kulit pisang yang terdiri dari: P1 (kontrol), P2 (STZ + 0,5% CMC 1%/kgBB), P3 (STZ + metmorfin 65 mg/kgBB), P4 dan P5 (STZ + ekstrak kulit pisang mentah), P6 dan P7 (STZ + ekstrak kulit pisang setengah matang), P8 dan P9 (STZ + ekstrak kulit pisang matang). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kematangan kulit pisang memberikan pengaruh berbeda sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kadar air, abu, protein, lemak, karbohidrat, serat kasar, total flavonoid, dan aktivitas antioksidan. Ekstrak serbuk albedo kulit pisang ambon matang dosis 400 mg/kgBB memberikan hasil terbaik secara signifikan pada penelitian ini dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah mencit.
