dc.description.abstractThis study was conducted to determine the potential of soy-yamghurt probiotics drink from the mixture of yam extract and soy extract with a ratio of 1: 1 in reducing the fasting blood glucose level of mice induced by streptozotocin-nicotinamide. In this research, an analysis of chemical and phytochemical characteristics of soy-yamghurt has been found as follows: water content (80,97%), total solids (18,85%), protein content (11,95%), total lactic acid (1,03%), viscosity (20,56 Pa.s), lactic acid bacteria (10,22 log CFU/g), fiber content (0,98%), IC50 value (44,99 ug/ml), total phenol (711,90 ugGAE/g), and total flavonoids (1345,73 ugQE/g). In vivo test using 30 males Wistar mice aged around 10-16 weeks with an average weight of 160-200 g was divided into 5 groups i.e: P1 (control), P2 (streptozotocin-nicotinamide), P3 (glibenclamide 0,45 mg/kg body weight), P4 (soy-yamghurt 3 ml), and P5 (soy-yamghurt 3,5 ml). The results showed that soy-yamghurt at doses of 3 ml/160 g body weight and 3,5 ml/160 g body weight for 4 weeks in streptozotocin-nicotinamide-induced mice had significantly (P<0,01) lowered blood glucose levels and increased their weight.en_US
dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui potensi minuman probiotik soy-yamghurt dari percampuran sari bengkuang dan sari kedelai dengan perbandingan 1:1 dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah puasa tikus percobaan yang diinduksi dengan streptozotocin-nicotinamide. Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan analisis terhadap karakteristik kimia dan fitokimia soy-yamghurt diantaranya kadar air (80,97%), total padatan (18,85%), kadar protein (11,95%), total asam laktat (1,03%), viskositas (20,56 Pa.s), bakteri asam laktat (10,22 log CFU/g), kadar serat (0,98%), nilai IC50 (44,99 ug/ml), total fenol (711,90 ugGAE/g), dan total flavonoid (1345,73 ugQE/g). Pengujian in vivo menggunakan 30 ekor tikus putih jantan galur Wistar berumur 10-16 minggu dengan rata-rata berat badan 160-200 g yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok yaitu P1 (kontrol), P2 (streptozotocin-nicotinamide), P3 (glibenklamid 0,45 mg/kgBB), P4 (soy-yamghurt 3 ml), dan P5 (soy-yamghurt 3,5 ml). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian soy-yamghurt dengan dosis 3 ml/160 g bb dan 3,5 ml/160 g bb selama 4 minggu pada tikus percobaan yang diinduksi streptozotocin-nicotinamide secara signifikan (P<0,01) dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah dan meningkatkan berat badan tikus percobaan.en_US
