Background: The pharmaceutical industry is a business entity licensed under statutory regulations to manufacture drugs or drug ingredients. These activities are required to adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines. Pharmacists play a strategic role in the pharmaceutical industry, as they must possess adequate qualifications, knowledge, experience, and skills to ensure that GMP is implemented according to established requirements. Objective : This Pharmacist Professional Internship (PKPA) aims to provide prospective pharmacists with an understanding of the roles, functions, and responsibilities of pharmacists in the pharmaceutical industry and the application of GMP in every aspect of production activities. The PKPA also provides prospective pharmacists with practical experience in carrying out pharmaceutical work in industry through the application of GMP principles at PT. Drs. Roostyan Effendie, Apt., Air Force Pharmaceutical Institute. Summary: The PKPA at PT. Drs. Roostyan Effendie, Apt., Air Force Pharmaceutical Institute will be held from January 2 to February 28, 2025, with primary placement in the Production Department. In addition, students also gain an understanding of various other departments through induction and training. Pharmacists play a crucial role in ensuring quality, personnel, buildings and facilities, equipment, sanitation and hygiene, production, quality control, selfinspection, quality audits, documentation, and validation and qualification. Conclusion: After participating in the PKPA program at PT. Drs. Roostyan Effendie, Apt., the Air Force Pharmaceutical Institute, it can be concluded that pharmacists are key personnel in the pharmaceutical industry, responsible for production, quality control, and quality assurance. Through this PKPA, prospective pharmacists gain knowledge, insight, and practical experience in the application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in the pharmaceutical industry. PT. Drs. Roostyan Effendie, Apt., the Air Force Pharmaceutical Institute, has proven to have implemented every aspect of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) effectively and sustainably to produce safe, high-quality, and effective medicines.
