dc.description.abstractOil palm plants (Elaeis quoneensis jacs) are one type of plantation crop that occupies an important position, especially in the agricultural sector. Oil palm plants are plants that produce vegetable oil that will be the mainstay in the future because of their various uses for human needs. Along with the rapid development of technology, it is necessary to create an oil palm bunch threshing machine to make it easier for farmers. This study aims to design, build, and test a mechanical oil palm fruit bunch threshing machine. This tool is designed to thresh fruit from the bunch, with the help of a combustion motor that rotates the pulley so that the threshing shaft can rotate to thresh the oil palm fruit bunch. Testing was carried out at a speed of 1000 RPM and a threshing tooth length of 5 cm. The results of the study showed that the effective capacity of the oil palm fruit bunch threshing machine was 266.90 kg/hour. Fuel consumption 2.1867 liters/hour. Based on the data obtained from the research that has been carried out, the BEP produced is 1,022.69 kg/year, which means the results of processing for 3 years. The NPV value with an interest rate of 6% was Rp 1,343,532,049.839 and the NPV at an interest rate of 10% was Rp 1,249,608,052.019. The IRR obtained was 67.2%. This tool is very helpful for oil palm farmers in removing oil palm fruit from its bunches, where the economic value will be higher compared to selling directly with the bunches.en_US
