| dc.description.abstract | This study aims to analyze the levels of copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) in coffee powder (Coffea spp.) produced by home industries in Melati Diski District, North Sumatra. The samples were analyzed using the dry destruction method and Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). The destruction process involved gradual heating up to 550°C to eliminate organic matter, followed by dissolution with nitric acid (HNO₃). The results showed that the Cu concentration in the coffee samples was 22.05 mg/kg and the Zn concentration was 10.6 mg/kg. Both values are below the maximum limits set by the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 01-2983-1994), whichare 30 mg/kg for Cu and 40 mg/kg for Zn. These findings indicate that the coffee products from the observed home industry are still safe for consumption, although periodic quality control is recommended.
