Laporan Praktik Kerja Profesi Apoteker Industri Farmasi di PT Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk Plant Citeureup

Abstract

Pharmacists play an essential role in ensuring drug quality through the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). To prepare competent future pharmacists, the Professional Apothecary Study Program of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, collaborates with PT Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk, Citeureup Plant, a pharmaceutical manufacturer producing various types of medicines and healthcare products as a site for the Professional Apothecary Practice program. To understand the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines and the roles and responsibilities of pharmacists as key personnel through direct practical experience at PT Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk, Citeureup Plant. The Pharmacist Professional Work Program at PT Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk, Citeureup Plant, was conducted from March 3 to April 30, 2025, with placement in the Quality Assurance Validation and Calibration Department, along with induction activities in several other units, including Production, Quality Control, Supply Chain, and others. The students gained an understanding of the quality system in the pharmaceutical industry, production facilities, personnel management, and distribution mechanisms in compliance with GMP. The program also provided practical experience in validation, qualification, documentation, and quality risk management. The Pharmacist Professional Work Program at PT Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk, Citeureup Plant, successfully equipped future pharmacists with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience required to perform pharmaceutical duties in the industry and prepared them to enter the professional workforce as competent and qualified pharmacists.
