Pemanfaatan Media Sosial Sebagai Promosi pada Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Provinsi Sumatera Utara

Abstract

The writing of this paper was carried out at the North Sumatra Provincial Library and Archives Office. The purpose of this paper is to identify the stages involved in utilizing social media as a means of promoting the North Sumatra Provincial Library and Archives Office. This study employed data collection methods including interviews, observation, literature reviews, and documentation. The finding of this study describes the stages in the use of social media for promoting the North Sumatra Provincial Library and Archives Office as follows: 1) Promotion Planning. Promoting the library aims to encourage users to become more engaged with it, providing them with an accurate understanding of the available resources, the responsibilities they must fulfill, the rights they are entitled to, the facilities provided, and the information accessible to them (user-oriented). 2) Challenges in Promotion. The library faces several challenges in conducting social media promotions, including budget constraints, limited expertise, content competition, and changes in platform algorithms.
