The research method used is a descriptive research method. This study found that the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami had a significant impact on the fisheries workforce in Minamisanriku City. The dominant livelihood of the people of Minamisanriku City is as fishermen/aquaculture. After the tsunami, the productive age fisheries workforce and the next generation continued to decline. This is because when the tsunami occurred, many people in coastalareas of Minamisanriku City died and after the tsunami, many people migrated out of the city for various reasons. In addition, cooperation between fishermen, the government and other institutions is also carried out as an effort to rebuild sustainable aquaculture.en_US
