Essential oil is one type of organic material with great potential to be used as a fuel additive because it is highly volatile, has low viscosity, and is composed of oxygenated hydrocarbon compounds. Biosolar is a mixture of diesel fuel and biodiesel, where biosolar has a lower environmental impact compared to conventional fuel since it contains biodiesel derived from renewable vegetable oils. However, biosolar still produces environmentally harmful emissions due to the presence of diesel fuel, so additional components are needed to reduce these emissions. This study examines the effect of adding clove essential oil bioadditive (0%, 0.5%, 1%) and increasing biodiesel concentrations (B50, B65, B80) on the characteristics of biosolar fuel. Testing was conducted according to SNI standards with viscosity (ASTM D445), density (ASTM D1298), flash point (ASTM D93), and ash content (ASTM D482). The results were then analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The findings showed that the addition of 1% clove essential oil and 65% biodiesel (A3B65) produced the optimal characteristics: viscosity of 3.43 mm²/s, density of 865.93 kg/m³, flash point of 106.33°C, and undetectable ash content.
