Management of Nursing Services and Care with Chronic Joint Pain Disorders Through the Implementation of Rheumatic Exercises in Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients in the Environment of XI Gedung Johor Village, Medan Johor District
Abstract
Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune disease that is progressive and systemic, characterized by chronic inflammation that attacks joints and connective tissue symmetrically. various symptoms such as pain, stiffness, decreased range of motion, and joint deformities. Joint pain experienced by rheumatic sufferers results in reduced daily activities which can reduce or reduce productivity. One simple and easy physical exercise is rheumatic exercise. The application of Rheumatic Exercise helps relieve pain, but also increases joint flexibility, improves blood circulation, maintains muscle strength, and prevents injury. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing rheumatic exercise to reduce the level of joint pain in patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis. The method used is a case study with a nursing care approach through five stages: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing. Joint pain management was carried out for 4 consecutive days in three patients. Client 1 nursing diagnosis of joint pain, impaired mobility, client 2 nursing diagnosis of lack of knowledge about rheumatism, joint pain, and client 3 nursing diagnosis of chronic pain, disturbed sleep patterns. The results of the nursing evaluation carried out on the three clients after rheumatic exercise were obtained that the pain felt by the three clients had decreased. It is hoped that each family will always apply techniques in training rheumatic exercise as a non-pharmacological treatment which is to reduce joint pain in Rheumatoid Arthritis for clients with rheumatism.
