Pengaruh Pemberian Kolkisin Terhadap Bobot Biji dan Pertumbuhan pada Tanaman Kedelai [Glycine Max (L.) Merrill] Varietas Gepak Kuning

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of colchicine application on seed weight and growth in the soybean variety Gepak Kuning. The research was conducted at Jalan Pasar 1 No. 296, Tanjung Sari Village, Medan Selayang District, at an altitude of 32 meters above sea level, from March to June 2025. A descriptive observational method was used along with descriptive statistical analysis. Soybean plants were treated with colchicine at concentrations of 500 ppm, 1000 ppm, and 1500 ppm, and compared with control plants using a paired t-test.The results showed that the 1500 ppm colchicine treatment had a significant effect on stomatal length, number of pods per plant, number of filled and empty pods, number of seeds per plant, and the weight of 100 seeds. The 1000 ppm treatment significantly affected stomatal width and stomatal density, especially compared to the 500 ppm treatment and the control group.
