dc.description.abstractThis study presents the reverse engineering and aerodynamic performance analysis of a 1:16 scale P-51D Mustang wing fabricated using FDM 3D printing with PLA+ material. The wing geometry was reconstructed in SolidWorks and manufactured through slicing in Ultimaker Cura using a zig-zag infill pattern. The printed components were evaluated through dimensional, mass, volume, and surface roughness measurements to assess accuracy relative to the digital model. The measurement results were used to conduct theoretical aerodynamic analyses, including lift curve, thrust–drag characteristics, and drag polar calculations. The findings show that the reverse engineering and 3D printing processes successfully produced an accurate and sufficiently rigid wing for aerodynamic assessment. Theoretical analysis also indicates a linear increase in lift coefficient with angle of attack up to the stall region, and a drag polar consistent with the laminar NACA/NAA 45-100 airfoil. This study provides a foundation for aircraft model aerostructure development and supports the use of 3D printing in aerospace-related research.en_US
