dc.description.abstractThis study discusses the reverse engineering process of a 1:16 scale model fuselage of the P-51D Mustang aircraft using rapid prototyping technology based on 3D printing with the Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) method. The process begins with creating a CAD model of the fuselage using SolidWorks software, followed by slicing through Ultimaker Cura with printing parameters configured to include a 10% zig-zag infill pattern, a 0.2 mm layer height, and the use of PLA+ filament material. All fuselage segments were printed sequentially using a Creality Ender 3 V3 SE printer and then reassembled to obtain a physical structure consistent with the digital design. The results of the study demonstrate that the application of a zig-zag infill pattern, the use of PLA+, and appropriate process parameter settings are capable of producing a fuselage with high dimensional precision and good surface quality. Furthermore, the study shows that 3D printing technology is effectively applied in the reverse engineering and fabrication of complex aerodynamic structures such as an aircraft fuselage, making it a valuable reference for future research related to the design and manufacturing of scale aircraft structures.en_US
