Hubungan Grading Kanker Payudara dengan Kejadian Metastasis Kelenjar Getah Bening Regional Di Rumah Sakit Prof. dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Universitas Sumatera Utara Periode 2023-2024

Abstract

Introduction. Breast cancer is the most common malignancy among women and ranks as the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. One of the key prognostic factors in breast cancer is tumour grading, which indicates the degree of cellular differentiation. Higher-grade tumours tend to be more aggressive cells proliferation and a higher chance to metastasis, including to the regional lymph nodes. Metastasis to the regional lymph nodes can increase mortality rates and the risk of disease recurrence. Objective. This study aimed to determine the relationship between breast cancer grading and the involvement of regional lymph nodes metastasis at Prof. dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Universitas Sumatera Utara Hospital, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan, 20155, INDONESIA. Methods. This study design uses observational analytical methods with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was total sampling, where the total sample in this study that meets the criteria was 145 sample. Then, the data retrieved analyzed using SPSS with Chi-square test. Results and discussion. The majority of breast cancer patients in this study had high grade tumours (61.4%), and regional lymph nodes involvement (68.3%). The Chi-square analysis produced a p-value of 0.518, indicating no statistically significant relationship between breast cancer grading and the involvement of regional lymph nodes metastasis at Prof. dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Universitas Sumatera Utara Hospital, 2023–2024 periods. Conclusions. There is no statistically significant relationship between breast cancer grading and the involvement of regional lymph nodes metastasis at Prof. dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Universitas Sumatera Utara Hospital, 2023–2024 periods.
