Background: Skin tags (acrochordon) are benign skin lesions that are often found, especially in adults and the elderly. Although non-malignant, their occurrence is often associated with various metabolic and hormonal conditions. One of the hormones suspected to play a role in the pathogenesis of skin tags is estradiol (17β- estradiol), the main biologically active form of estrogen. Estradiol is known to affect various components of the skin such as fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and mast cells. Objective: To determine the relationship between serum estradiol levels and skin tag formation Subjects dan Metodhs: This study was an observational study with a cross- sectional design on 30 female patients with skin tags and 30 female patients without skin tags. Each patient underwent anamnesis, dermatological examination, and continued with blood sampling to assess estradiol levels using the ELISA test. The data were analyzed statistically using the Mann-Whitney analytical test. Results: The mean estradiol level in skin tags was 420.86 ng/mL (SD = 196.75 ng/mL) significantly higher than the control group (p<0.01). Most subjects with skin tags is the age group 36 – 35 years with 19 subjects (63.3%), the most predilection location was in the neck region of 22 subjects (73.3%), had a total of 6-10 lesions of 20 subjects (66.7%) with the most clinical form being pedunculated of 19 subjects (63.3%). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between high estradiol levels and skin tags (p<0.001).en_US
