The Relationship between Maternal Parenting Patterns and Toddlers Nutritional Status in Working Area of UPT Mandala Health Center
Abstract
The problem of poor nutritional status in toddlers is a serious problem that is still
faced by many countries, including Indonesia. Poor nutritional status can hinder
children's growth and development, and risks reducing their quality of life in the
future. Improper parenting patterns, parents' lack of understanding about the
importance of balanced nutrition, and environmental conditions that do not support
cleanliness and health, are the main factors that influence the nutritional status of
toddlers. Improving parenting patterns, increasing parental awareness regarding
health care, and a clean environment are very important in preventing malnutrition
problems in toddlers. This study was conducted to determine the relationship
between maternal parenting patterns and the nutritional status of toddlers in the
work area of the Mandala Health Center UPT. The type of research is quantitative.
The data source in this study was obtained from a questionnaire to respondents.
The population in this study were mothers who had toddlers aged 12-59 months at
the Mandala Health Center UPT, totaling 912 mothers, using the Slovin formula,
100 samples were obtained. The analysis technique used in this study used the Chi
Square test. Based on the results of the chi square test, a p-value of <0.05 was
obtained, this indicates that there is a relationship between parenting patterns,
environmental sanitation hygiene and utilization of health services on nutritional
status in toddlers aged 12-59 months at the Mandala Health Center UPT.
