Profil Pasien Mioma Uteri di Rumah Sakit Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Universitas Sumatera Utara periode 2023-2024

Abstract

Background. Uterine fibroid is a common benign tumor of the uterine smooth muscle frequently encountered in women of reproductive age. Research on the profile of uterine fibroid patients is important for understanding the epidemiological and clinical characteristics in a region, which can be the basis for more effective management. Objective. This study aims to descriptively profile uterine fibroid patients at Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P.Lubis Universitas Sumatera Utara Hospital, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan, 20155, Indonesia, during 2023-2024. Result. Of the 138 uterine fibroid patients, the majority were aged >35- 50 years (79,7%), with multipara parity (43,5%) and working as housewives (36,2%). The most frequent symptom was abnormal bleeding (45,7%), with the most common type of uterine fibroid was hybrid (50,7%). The most frequently operative management was hysterectomy (50,7%) and conservative management (13,0%). Conclusion. Most Uterine fibroid patients were in late adulthood, with multipara status and worked as housewives. The most dominant clinical symptom was abnormal bleeding, and the most common type was hybrid. Most patients received operative management, hysterectomy Therefore, education is needed regarding the importance of early screening to prevent uterine fibroid.
