The Fourth Industrial Revolution Era has brought significant impacts across various aspects of life, including the education sector. The rapid growth in digital technology forces every layer of society to adapt, including parents. Parents play a crucial role in supporting the educational success of their children, especially with the presence of online school registration systems that require the use of digital devices. However, this situation poses challenges for parents who are not accustomed to technology, which can lead to a digital divide. This research aims to analyze the factors influencing the digital readiness of students’ parents at SMAN 2 Kabanjahe by utilizing the Technology Readiness Index (TRI) model. This model measures individuals’ attitudes toward technology through four dimensions: optimism, innovativeness, discomfort, and insecurity. The research approach used is quantitative with Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) analysis. Data was collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 80 students parents, and subsequently processed using SmartPLS 4.0. The results show an R2 value of 0,615, indicating that 61.5% of the variation in digital readiness can be explained by the model. The t-test confirms that optimism has a significant positive influence, while discomfort also has a significant influence, albeit negative, on digital readiness, as the t-values exceed 1,96. Meanwhile, innovativeness and insecurity do not have a significant influence, as the t-values are below 1,96. This research affirms the importance of the TRI model in assessing society’s digital readiness, particularly in the context of education.en_US
