| dc.description.abstract | Old age is something that cannot be avoided, with increasing age, the greater the
possibility of someone experiencing and feeling physical, spiritual, spiritual,
economic and social problems. A very basic problem in old age which is a health
concern caused by degenerative procedures. Indonesia, the government is
implementing a transformation of primary health services as an effort to improve
the health system. Based on data on the number of elderly people in Medan City in
2020, around 10 persen of the population are elderly, totaling 201,413 people. In
2023, the number of elderly people in Medan Denai was 1536 people, the elderly
who participated in the elderly posyandu program every month in the Medan Denai
sub- district work area were 140 people in 2024, while the number of samples was
60 people. Based on a preliminary survey conducted by researchers to 8 elderly
people at the Medan Denai Health Center Posyandu, 5 of them were not routine
because the elderly said they had no friends to attend the posyandu, some also
said they were busy looking after their grandchildren at home. The purpose of the
study was to determine the factors related to the utilization of the elderly
posyandu (elderly) in the Medan Denai Health Center work area in 2025. The type
of research used in this study is quantitative. With a cross-sectional study
approach. The research instrument used a questionnaire using the Chi-square
test. Based on the results of the study, there is a relationship between the
Knowledge variable and the utilization of posyandu with a p-value 0,005 <0,05
There is a relationship between the attitude variable and the Utilization of
Posyandu with a p-value 0,033 <0,05. There is a relationship between the Elderly
Trust variable and the utilization of Posyandu with a p-value of 0,038 <0,05 There
is a relationship between the Family Role variable and the Utilization of Posyandu
with a p-value 0,013<0,050. There is a relationship between the Family Role
variable and the Utilization of Posyandu with a p-value 0,041 <0,05. To improve
the knowledge of the elderly, it is hoped that health workers can provide
education and socialization activities about the utilization of the elderly
