    Pembuatan Keramik Konstruksi dari Debu Vulkanik Gunung Sinabung dan Abu Sekam Padi dengan Polyvinyl Alcohol Sebagai Perekat

    Abstract
    The fabrication of construction ceramics based on 300, 325, 350, 375, 400 grams of volcanic ash, 150, 125, 100, 75.50 grams of rice husk ash and fixed polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) stickers were burned at 11000C with cooling for 24 hours. . The resulting ceramics have characteristics based on physical properties including Density = 5,6178- 6,2057 g / cm3, Porosity = 0,8772-1,7206%, Mass Loss = 0,15-0.28%, Volume Loss = 0,15- 0.62% and mechanical properties include Hardness = 213,139 - 340,569 MPa, Strong Press = 6,5013 - 15,2086 MPa. Based on the results of testing in this study the best quality of ceramics found in the composition of volcanic ash 300 grams, 150 grams of rice husk ash and 50 gram polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) adhesive with a hardness value of 340.569 MPa and a compressive strength value of 15.2086 MPa. From this research turned out sinabung volcanic ash can be used as the main material of construction ceramics.
     
    Pembuatan keramik konstruksi berbasis 300, 325, 350, 375, 400 gram abu vulkanik, 150, 125, 100, 75,50 gram abu sekam padi dan perekat polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) tetap 50 gram dibakar pada suhu 11000C dengan pendinginan selama 24 jam. . Keramik yang dihasilkan memiliki karakteristik berdasarkan sifat fisis meliputi Densitas = 5,6178– 6,2057 g/cm3, Porositas = 0,8772-1,7206 % , Susut Massa = 0,15-0.28 %, Susut Volume = 0,15-0,62 % dan sifat mekanis meliputi Kekerasan = 213,139 – 340,569 MPa, Kuat Tekan = 6,5013 – 15,2086 MPa. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian dalam penelitian ini kualitas terbaik keramik terdapat pada komposisi abu vulkanik 300 gram, abu sekam padi 150 gram dan perekat polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) 50 gram dengan nilai kekerasan yaitu 340,569 MPa dan nilai kuat tekan yaitu 15,2086 MPa.Dari penelitian ini ternyata abu vulkanik gunung sinabung dapat digunakan sebagai bahan utama pembuatan keramik konstruksi.
