dc.description.abstractThe aims of this research are to describe the position and role of Tengku Amir Hamzah’s Lyric Poetries in the perspectives of Cultural Studies, to explain about the representation of the Dutch East Indies’ social realities depicted in Tengku Amir Hamzah’s works (1911 – 1946), and to expose about the intentions of the Lyric Poetries’ creations based on theories such as Counterhegemony, Archetypal, Fenomenology Literature, Social Construction and Deconstruction using concepts such as Angkatan Poedjangga Baroe, Lyric Poetry, Intellectual Community, Social Praxis Discource, and Cultural Studies. This research uses Qualitative Decriptive method with Content Analysis focus. The data of the dissertation consist of 15 Lyric Poetries written by Tengku Amir Hamzah, namely 5 Lyric Poetries of Njanji Sunji book (1937) and 10 Lyric Poetries of Buah Rindu book (1941). The data collection techniques are done by performing close reading of Tengku Amir Hamzah’s works, library research, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), field research, and documentation studies, while the data analysis techniques are done by verification and triangulation. Based on research analysis, the uniqueness of Tengku Amir Hamzah’s Lyric Poetries lie in the use of Bahasa Indonesia, polite dictions, taking the forms of Monarch-Centric Poetry, and prosodies. According to their structures, the poetries closely resemble the 19th century British Romantic Period works; which are identical in the exertions of monostichs, tercets, quatrains, and odd stanzas. Based on the perspectives of Indonesian Literature, Tengku Amir Hamzah’s Lyric Poetries are categorized as the literary work of sufism, Malay-centric, and unrequited love. As for the perspectives of Cultural Studies, they are classified as archaic, archetypes, patriotic, and emancipatory literature. Furthermore, the Lyric Poetries are used as means of media opposition through Counterhegemony for the purpose of delivering irony toward social gap and devide et impera. On the other hand, they are positioned as the act of intellectual movements in order to signalize the rise of nationalism and the efforts to end the Dutch Colonialism.en_US
dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan posisi serta peran dari Puisi-Puisi Liris karya Tengku Amir Hamzah menurut perspektif Kajian Budaya, menjelaskan bentuk representasi realitas sosial masyarakat Hindia Belanda yang digambarkan oleh Tengku Amir Hamzah (1911 – 1946) melalui karya-karyanya serta memaparkan tujuan dari penciptaan Puisi-Puisi Liris tersebut berdasarkan teori-teori Kontra-Hegemoni, Arketipal, Fenomenologi, Konstruksi Sosial dan Dekonstruksi dengan konsep-konsep Angkatan Poedjangga Baroe, Puisi Liris, Kaum Intelektual, Diskursus Praksis Sosial dan Kajian Budaya (Cultural Studies). Metode yang digunakan dalam melakukan penelitian adalah Deskriptif-Kualitatif yang berfokus pada Analisis Konten. Data penelitian disertasi berupa 15 buah Puisi Liris karya Tengku Amir Hamzah, yakni 5 buah Puisi Liris dalam Njanji Sunji (1937) dan 10 buah Puisi Liris dalam Buah Rindu (1941). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kegiatan membaca karya-karya Tengku Amir Hamzah, studi pustaka, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), studi lapangan dan studi dokumentasi, sedangkan teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan cara verifikasi dan triangulasi. Berdasarkan analisis, diperoleh hasil bahwa kekhasan Puisi-Puisi Liris Tengku Amir Hamzah terletak pada penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia, diksi halus, berbentuk Istana Sentris dan Prosodi. Secara struktur, ia menyerupai karya-karya sastra aliran Romantik Inggris abad ke-19 yang identik dengan penggunaan bait puisi monostich, tercet, quatrain, sestet dan odd stanza. Menurut perspektif Sastra Indonesia, Puisi-Puisi Liris karya Tengku Amir Hamzah dikategorikan sebagai karya sastra bertemakan sufisme, kemelayuan dan kasih tak sampai. Sementara itu, menurut perspektif Kajian Budaya ia tergolong sebagai karya sastra arkais, arketipal, patriotik dan emansipatoris. Pada tahap selanjutnya, Puisi-Puisi Liris tersebut berfungsi sebagai media perlawanan melalui Kontra Hegemoni yang berupa sindiran halus terhadap kesenjangan sosial dan aksi adu domba. Di sisi lain, ia diposisikan sebagai gerakan intelektual yang mensinyalir pembangkitan rasa nasionalisme dan pengakhiran masa Kolonialisme Belanda.en_US
