A Description of Leading Character’s Conflict In Jeannette Walss’ Novel The Glass Castle

Abstract

This paper titled A Desciption Of The Leading Characters’ Conflicts in Jeannette Walls’ Novel The Glass Castle. The issues discussed in this work paper is, what are Jeannette’s internal and external conflicts in The Glass Castle novel by Jeannette Walls. The writer is interested in choosing this title because the leading character in the novel is described as a strong and tough character and this novel tells the story of her difficult life and does not have a home until finally she choose to go to New York to change her life for the better and her parents choose to be homeless. The purpose of this study is to find out what are Jeannette internal and external conflicts in the novel The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. The method used in this work paper is qualitative research method.

Makalah ini berjudul A Desciption of The Leading Character Conflict in Jeannette Walls' Novel The Glass Castle. Masalah yang dibahas dalam makalah ini adalah, apa konflik internal dan eksternal Jeannette dalam The Glass Castle novel oleh Jeannette Walls. Penulis tertarik untuk memilih judul ini karena karakter utama dalam novel digambarkan sebagai karakter yang kuat dan tangguh dan novel ini menceritakan kisah hidupnya yang sulit dan tidak memiliki rumah sampai akhirnya dia memilih untuk pergi ke New York untuk mengubah hidupnya menjadi lebih baik dan orang tuanya memilih menjadi tunawisma. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apa yang menjadi konflik internal dan eksternal Jeannette dalam novel The Glass Castle oleh Jeannette Walls. Metode yang digunakan dalam makalah ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif.
