    Pembuatan dan Karakterisasi Komposit Berbasis Serbuk Batang Aren dengan Matriks Resin Polyester , Resin Epoksi dan Resin Polyuretan

    Abstract
    Sugar palm stem powder composite had been produced using conventional molding and pressing method with three parts ; top, middle and bottom which reinforced polyester, epoxy and polyurethane. This study was analyzed by FT-IR analysis, SEM-EDS and chemical composition content test to obtain the chemical compund and functional groups. Composite was prepared from the variation of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 (wt%) sugar palm stem powder and 90, 92, 94, 96, and 98 (wt%) polyester, epoxy, and polyurethane as reinforcement which processed in pressure of 300 MPA in 70 ºC for polyester and epoxy while polyurethane took 20 minutes to reach 120 ºC. The result of mechanical and physical test were 1.00 gr/cm3 of density, 2.74% of porosity, 2.71% of water absorption, 80.47 kJ/m2 of impact strength, 39 MPa of flexural strength, and 1.58 MPa of tensile strength. SEM-EDX showed that the surface structure of composite was homogeneous. Thus, the result was adjusted with the standard of JIS A 59005:2003.
     
    Komposit berbasis serbuk batang aren telah dibuat melalui teknik konvensional cetak dan tekan dari bahan baku serbuk batang aren dengan 3 bagian yaitu: bawah, tengah dan atas serta matriksnya yaitu resin polyester, resin epoksi dan resin polyuretan. Adapun telah dilakukan pengujian FTIR dan SEM-EDS untuk dapat mengetahui gugus fungsi dan komposisi kimia yang terkandung pada serbuk batang aren. Komposisi serbuk batang aren bervariasi dengan fraksi berat 2,4,6,8 dan 10% wt juga diperkuat matriks fraksi berat 90,92,94,96 dan 98% wt oleh resin polyester, resin epoksi dan resin polyuretan pada tekanan 300 MPa dengan perlakuan 120ºC untuk resin polyuretan dan 70ºC pada resin polyester dan resin epoksi dalam waktu 20 menit. Hasil pengujian sifat fisis dan mekanik menghasilkan nilai optimum densitas 1.00 gr/cm3, 2.74% porositas, 2.71% penyerapan air, 80.47 kJ/m2 kuat impak, 39 MPa kuat lentur,1.58 MPa kuat tekan dan hasil SEM-EDS untuk melihat struktur permukaan sampel yang bersifat homogen. Dengan begitu, hasil pengujian memenuhi Standart JIS A 5905:2003.
