Pengaruh Terpaan Drama Serial Korea pada Aplikasi Viu Terhadap Pemenuhan Kebutuhan Hiburan Mahasiswa Universitas Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Skripsi ini berjudul “Pengaruh Terpaan Drama Serial Korea Pada Aplikasi Viu Terhadap Pemenuhan Kebutuhan Hiburan Mahasiswa Universitas Sumatera Utara”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauhmana pengaruh terpaan drama serial Korea pada aplikasi Viu terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan hiburan mahasiswa Universitas Sumatera Utara. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Uses and Gratifications. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Penentuan sampel digunakan rumus Taro Yamane sehingga diperoleh sampel sebanyak 99 orang. Teknik penarikan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan proportional stratified sampling, purposive sampling, dan accidental sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kepustakaan dan penelitian lapangan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode korelasional yang bertujuan untuk mencari hubungan antara variabel yang satu dengan variabel lainnya. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis tabel tunggal, analisis tabel silang dan uji hipotesis menggunakan rumus Koefisien Relasi Tata Genjang oleh Spearman dengan menggunakan skala Guilford. Hasil uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan SPSS versi 22 menunjukkan angka (0,520) yang artinya terdapat hubungan yang cukup berarti antara variabel X dengan variabel Y. Pada penelitian ini hipotesis yang diterima adalah Ha, yaitu terdapat hubungan antara terpaan drama serial Korea pada aplikasi Viu terhadap pemenuhan hiburan mahasiswa Universitas Sumatera Utara.

The title of this thesis is “The Influence of Korean Drama Series Exposure on Viu Application Towards The Fulfillment of Entertainment Needs Among Students of University of North Sumatera”. The objective of this research is to find out how far the impact of Korean drama series exposure on Viu application towrds the fulfillment of entertainment needs among students of University of North Sumatera. The teory used in this research is Uses and Gratification Theory. This research is quantitative research. Taro Yamane’s formula is used as sample determination with the result of 99 people samples obtained. Sampling technique used in this research is proportional stratified sampling, purposive sampling, and accidental sampling. Library research and field research is used as data collection technique in this research. The method used in this research is correlational method, aims to discover the correlation among variable. Data analysis technique used in this research are single table analysis, cross table analysis and hypothesis test using Spearman’s Rho Rank Order Correlation Formula and using Guilford scale. The result of hypothesis test using SPSS Version 22 show that hypothesis is accepted (0,520) which means significant relationship between variable X and Y. In this research, Ha was accepted that there is relation betwen the influence of Korean drama series exposure on Viu application towards the fulfillment of entertainment needs among students of University of North Sumatera.
