    Pembuatan dan Pengujian Sifat Fisis dan Mekanik Bioveneer Komposit Cangkang Kerang Darah

    Abstract
    Composite materials have been created for the applications of dental veneer from a mixture of raw materials : hydroxyapatite (HAp) powder from ark clam shells and epoxy resins by cold compression method with variations of hydroxyapatite (HAp) powder composition : epoxy resin (75 : 25)%wt, (80 : 20)%wt, (85 : 15)%wt, (90 : 10)%wt, dan (95 : 5)%wt. Sampling is created in three step. The first step of ark clam shells powder is treated by smoothing it with a particle size of 200 mesh and heated at 900oC for 2 hours after it was synthesized into hydroxyapatite (HAp) powder. The second step of the filler (hydroxyapatite powder) is mixed with dry mixing and then mixed with epoxy resin as a matrix. The third step of the homogeneous mixture is then inserted into the mold and compacted by heat to be more dense with pressure of 300 MPa or 3 ton held for 15 minutes at 27°C. Each sample of dental veneer composites that are ready to be characterized includes : physical properties (density, water absorption, functional groups, surface morphology and elemental content), and mechanical properties (fracture strength, tensile strength, elastic modulus, and brinell hardness). The characterization results showed that the optimum composition of hydroxyapatite powder: epoxy resin (75 : 25)%wt with density value 0,1185 x 103 kg/m3, water absorption 1,163%, composed of -PO4 (phosphate) and -CO3 (carbonate) group from hydroxyapatite and HOH groups of epoxy resin. Mechanical properties with fracture strength 116 MPa, tensile strength 66,12 MPa, elastic modulus 3297,99 MPa and brinell hardness 75,87 HBR whose characterization results have met the conventional dental veneer standards. The results of dental veneer based on hydroxyapatite/epoxy resin composite can be applied as a decorate and protect teeth in the form of veneers.
     
    Telah dibuat material komposit untuk aplikasi veneer gigi dari campuran bahan baku : serbuk hidroksiapatit (HAp) dari cangkang kerang darah, dan resin epoksi melalui metode kompaksi dingin dengan variasi komposisi serbuk hidroksiapatit (HAp) : resin epoksi (75 : 25)%wt, (80 : 20)%wt, (85 : 15)%wt, (90 : 10)%wt, dan (95 : 5)%wt. Pembuatan sampel dilakukan tiga tahap. Tahap pertama serbuk cangkang kerang darah ditreatment dengan menghaluskan dengan ball mill pada ukuran 200 mesh dan ditanur pada suhu 900oC selama 2 jam setelah itu disintesis menjadi serbuk hidroksiapatit (HAp). Tahap kedua filler (serbuk hidroksiapatit) dicampur dengan resin epoksi sebagai matriks. Tahap ketiga campuran bahan yang telah homogen kemudian dimasukkan kedalam cetakan kemudian dikompaksi dingin agar lebih padat dengan tekanan 3 MPa atau 3 ton ditahan 5 menit pada suhu 27 oC. Masing-masing sampel komposit veneer gigi yang telah siap dikarakterisasi yang meliputi : sifat fisis (densitas, daya serap air, gugus fungsi, morfologi permukaan dan kandungan unsur), dan sifat mekanik (kuat patah, kuat tarik, modulus elastisitas, dan kekerasan). Hasil karakterisasi menunjukkan bahwa serbuk hidroksiapatit : resin epoksi yang optimum yaitu (75 : 25)%wt dengan nilai densitas 0,1185 x 103 kg/m3, daya serap air 1,163%, tersusun gugus -PO4 (fosfat) dan -CO3 (karbonat) dari hidroksiapatit dan gugus H-O-H (hidroksil) dari resin epoksi. Sifat mekanik dengan kuat patah 116 MPa, kuat tarik 66,12 MPa, modulus elastisitas 3297,99 MPa dan kekerasan 75,87 HBR yang hasil karakterisasinya telah memenuhi standar veneer gigi konvensional. Hasil dari material veneer gigi berbasis komposit serbuk hidroksiapatit cangkang kerang darah yang diperkuat resin epoksi dapat diaplikasikan sebagai penghias gigi dan pelindung gigi berupa veneer.
