Pembentukan Konsep Diri Melalui Proses Komunikasi Antarpribadi pada Perempuan Sosialita (Studi Deskriptif Kualitatif Pembentukan Konsep Diri Melalui Proses Komunikasi Antarpribadi pada Perempuan Sosialita di Kota Medan)

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul Pembentukan Konsep Diri Melalui Proses Komunikasi Antarpribadi pada Perempuan Sosialita (Studi Deskriptif Kualitatif Pembentukan Konsep Diri Melalui Proses Komunikasi Antarpribadi pada Perempuan Sosialita di Kota Medan). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan konstruktivisme. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pembentukan konsep diri melalui proses komunikasi antarpribadi pada perempuan sosialita di Kota Medan. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pembentukan konsep diri melalui proses komunikasi antarpribadi pada perempuan sosialita di Kota Medan, mengetahui simbol-simbol dan tanda yang digunakan oleh sosialitadi Kota Medan dalam berkomunikasi, mengetahui alasan perempuan bergaya hidup ala sosialita, dan mengetahui pendapat masyarakat tentang fenomena sosialita. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif menggunakan berbagai sumber data yang bisa digunakan untuk meneliti, menguraikan, dan menjelaskan secara komperehensif berbagai aspek individu atau peristiwa secara sistematis, penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif yang menjelaskan fenomena sedalam-dalamnya melalui pengumpulan data. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori konsep diri dalam komunikasi antarpribadi. Pada enelitian ini peneliti melibatkan 5 (lima) informan yang dipilih secara sengaja oleh peneliti sesuai dengan tujuan dan kebutuhan penelitian dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Wawancara merupakan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, dan dalam menganalisis data digunakan teknik analisis data kualitatif yang dikembangkan oleh Moleong (2011) untuk mereduksi, menyajikan, dan menyimpulkan data yang diperoleh dari hasil wawancara. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa informan menilai dirinya sebagai perempuan yang memiliki konsep diri positif sehingga timbul rasa percaya diri dari mereka dengan bergaya sosialita. Pandangan orang lain membentuk konsep diri perempuan sosialita. Pandangan tersebut disampaikan melalui proses komunikasi orang lain dengan perempuan sosialita.

This research entitled Formation of Self Concept Through the Process of Interpersonal Communication in The Female Socialite (Qualitative Descriptive Study Formation of Self Concept Through the Process of Interpersonal Communication in The Female Socialite in Medan).This study uses a constructivist approach. This researchfocuses on theformation of self-concept through the process of interpersonal communication in the female socialite in Medan.The purpose of this study is to investigate theformation of self concept through the process of interpersonal communication in the female Socialite, knowing the symbols and signs used by socialites inMedan on communication, knowing the reason female's lifestyle as socialite, and knowing the public opinion on socialite phenomenon. The method in this research is qualitative descriptive and designed by using a variety of data sources that can be used to examine, describe, and explain comprehensively the various aspects of individuals or events systematically, this study used a qualitative methodology that explains the phenomenon deeply through data collection. This study uses the theory of self-concept in interpersonal communication. In this study, the researcher recruited five (5) informants that were selected intentionally by the researchers in accordance with the objectives and needs of the study using purposive sampling technique.Interview has been used as the data collecting techniques in this study,and in analyzing the data, the researcher uses qualitative techniques developed by Moleong (2011) to reduce, present, and conclude the data that obtained from interviews.It can be concluded that the informants assess her as a female who has a positive self-concept which raised the confidence of those with stylish socialites. The Views of others or her form female socialite. This view was conveyed through other people's communication process with female socialite.
