dc.description.abstractBackground : Onychomycosis is a nail infection that can be caused by dermatophytes, non-dermatophytes or molds, and yeast. Some skin diseases are associated with oxidative stress, including those caused by fungal infections. Oxidative stress is the result of balancing the destruction between oxidants and antioxidants in the body. Superoxide dismutase was the main defence of superoxide radical and the main defence against the oxidative stress. Objectives : Knowing the relationship between onychomycosis and superoxide dismutase levels. Subject and methods : This research is an observational analytic study with cross-sectional method involving 34 fish traders suffering from fungal infections and 34 healthy people from April to August 2019 at the SMF Polyclinic of the Health and Gender Health Sciences Hospital H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan. Diagnosis is based on history taking, clinical examination, direct microscopic examination using KOH solution 20% of nail scrapings, after which blood is taken to measure serum superoxide dismutase levels in onychomycosis. Result : In this study it was found that the highest incidence of onychomycosis in the age group of 36-45 years was as many as 12 people (35.3%), with the most sex being male as many as 20 people (58.8%) and the most education was senior high school namely 26 people (76.5%).Three times lower SOD levels in onychomycosis patients (71,263 ± 140,561) than controls (273,985 ± 403,197), there is a significant correlation between onychomycosis and SOD levels.there was a statistically significant difference in SOD levels between onychomycosis and control subjects (p = 0,0001 *). There was no relationship between SOD levels and length of experience in onychomycosis patients (p = 0.097). Conclusion : There is a significant correlation between onychomycosis and SOD levels.en_US
dc.description.abstractLatar belakang : Onikomikosis adalah infeksi kuku yang dapat disebabkan oleh dermatofita, non dermatofita atau mold, dan yeast. Beberapa penyakit kulit dikaitkan dengan stress oksidatif, termasuk pada penyakit yang disebabkan oleh infeksi jamur. Stres oksidatif merupakan hasil dari penyeimbangan kehancuran antara oksidan dan antioksidan dalam tubuh. Superoxide dismutase merupakan pertahanan utama radikal superoksida dan mekanisme pertahan pertama melawan stres oksidatif. Tujuan : Mengetahui hubungan antara onikomikosis dengan kadar superoxide dismutase. Subjek dan metode : Penelitian ini merupakan suatu studi analitik observasional dengan metode potong lintang yang melibatkan 34 pedagang ikan yang menderita infeksi jamur dan 34 orang sehat dari bulan April sampai Agustus 2019 di poliklinik SMF Ilmu Kesehatan Kulit dan Kelamin RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan. Diagnosis ditegakan berdasarkan anamnesis, pemeriksaan klinis, pemeriksaan mikroskopis langsung dengan menggunakan larutan KOH 20% dari kerokan kuku, setelah itu dilakukan pengambilan darah untuk pengukuran kadar superoxide dismutase serum pada onikomikosis. Hasil :.Pada penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa kejadian terbanyak onikomikosis pada kelompok usia 36-45 tahun yaitu sebanyak 12 orang (35,3%), dengan jenis kelamin terbanyak adalah laki-laki sebanyak 20 orang (58,8%) dan pendidikan terbanyak adalah SMA yaitu 26 orang (76,5%). Lebih rendah tiga kali lipat kadar SOD penderita onikomikosis (71,263 ±140,561), dibandingkan kontrol (273,985 ±403,197), terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara onikomikosis dengan kadar SOD, secara statistik terdapat perbedaan signifikan kadar SOD antara subjek onikomikosis dengan kontrol (p=0,0001*). Tidak ada hubungan antara kadar SOD dengan lama mengalami pada pasien onikomikosis (p= 0,097). Kesimpulan : Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara onikomikosis dengan kadar SODen_US
