A Description of Figure of Speech in Selected Songs from Coldplay

Abstract

In a paper entitled A Description of Figure of Speech in Selected Songs from Coldplay, the author wants to explain the figure of speech in Coldplay songs. Language style is very influential in a song because it expresses the feelings, thoughts or messages that the author wants to convey in his song to the listener. In this song there are several types of lectures that will be explained in this paper. This study shows how figurative language is related to the description of characterization in literature. To ensure that figurative language really helps describe further characterization. In this paper, there are all kinds of characters contained in Coldplay songs including Personification, Metaphor, Hyperbole, and Repetition contained in the Coldplay song entitled Fix You, The Scientist, Yellow, and Paradise.

Dalam kertas karya yang berjudul A Description of Figure of Speech in Selected Songs from Coldplay, penulis ingin menjelaskan majas yang terdapat di dalam lagu-lagu Coldplay. Gaya bahasa sangat berpengaruh dalam sebuah lagu karena mengekspresikan perasaan, pikiran atau pesan yang ingin disampaikan oleh penulis dalam lagunya kepada pendengar. Dalam lagu ini ada beberapa jenis majas yang akan dijelaskan dalam kertas karya ini. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bagaimana bahasa kiasan terkait dengan deskripsi karakterisasi dalam sastra. Untuk memastikan bahwa bahasa kiasan benar-benar membantu menggambarkan karakterisasi lebih lanjut. Dalam kertas karya ini, ada semua jenis karakter yang terkandung dalam lagu Coldplay termasuk Personifikasi, Metafora, Hiperbola, dan Pengulangan yang terkandung dalam lagu Coldplay berjudul Fix You, The Scientist, Yellow, dan Paradise.
