    Abstract
    OPTIMASI KUANTITAS DAN KUALITAS UBIKAYU (Manihot esculenta Crantz) UNTUK INDUSTRI MODIFIED CASSAVA FLOUR (MOCAF) MELALUI PERLAKUAN AGRONOMIS DI SUMATERA UTARA, Emmy Harso Kardhinata, di bawah Promotor Prof. Edison Purba, Ph.D, Co-Promotor Prof. Dr. Drs. Dwi Suryanto, M.Sc., dan Dr. Ir. Herla Rusmarilin, MS. Penelitian telah dilakukan melalui 3 tahap yang dimulai dari Identifikasi jenis-jenis ubikayu yang ada di 5 Kabupaten yaitu Langkat, Deli Serdang, Serdang Bedagai, Simalungun dan Karo. Ada 8 (delapan) genotip ubikayu yang dibudidayakan oleh masyarakat sebagai bahan pangan dan industri yaitu masing-masing dengan nama lokal Sawit/Gading, Lampung, Merah, Adira-1, Banjar/Kalimantan, Malaysia, Valencia, dan Pulut. Tiga dari delapan genotip yaitu Adira-1, Malaysia dan Merah diberi perlakuan 3 dosis pemupukan NPK masing-masing Urea:SP36:KCl 175:75:75 kg/ha (di bawah dosis anjuran), 200:100:100 kg/ha (dosis anjuran), dan 225:125:125 kg/ha (di atas dosis anjuran), dan diamati pada 3 umur yang berbeda, yaitu 8, 9 dan 10 bulan setelah tanam (BST). Disain penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terpisah dengan 3 ulangan. Pengukuran parameter produksi dilakukan pada 8, 9, dan 10 bulan seteah tanam (BST). Genotip menunjukkan perbedaan dalam hal produksi, genotip Malaysia mempunyai produksi tertinggi yaitu 6,68 kg/pohon, diikuti Adira-1 (5,69 kg/pohon) dan Merah (5,08 kg/pohon). Umur panen 8 BST menunjukkan perbedaan terhadap umur panen 9 dan 10 BST, tetapi umur panen 9 BST tidak berbeda nyata dengan 10 BST, sehingga pemanenan sebaiknya dilakukan pada 9 BST. Pada umur panen 10 bulan masing-masing genotip diukur kadar MOCAF yang dihasilkan. Genotip Malaysia mampu menghasilkan 0,38±0,02 %, Merah (0,35±0,03%) dan Adira-1 (0,33±0,04%) yang secara statistik tidak berbeda nyata.
     
    QUANTITY AND QUALITY OPTIMIZATION OF CASSAVA (Manihot esculenta Crantz) FOR MODIFIED CASSAVA FLOUR INDUSTRY (MOCAF) THROUGH AGRONOMIC TREATMENT IN NORTH SUMATRA, Emmy Harso Kardhinata, under the Promoter of Prof. Edison Purba, Ph.D, Co-Promoter Prof. Dr. Drs. Dwi Suryanto, M.Sc., and Dr. Ir. Ir. Herla Rusmarilin, MS. The research has been done through 3 stages starting from Identification of the types of cassava that exist in 5 regencies namely Langkat, Deli Serdang, Serdang Bedagai, Simalungun and Karo. There are 8 (eight) cassava genotypes cultivated by the community as food and industry, each with local name Sawit/Gading, Lampung, Merah/Gondoruwo, Adira-1, Banjar/Kalimantan, Malaysia, Roti/Valencia and Klanting/Pulut. Three of the eight genotypes of Adira-1, Malaysia and Merah/Gondoruwo were treated with 3 doses of NPK fertilization of each N:P:K 175: 75: 75 kg/ha (below recommended dosage), 200: 100: 100 kg/ha recommended dose), and 225: 125: 125 kg/ha (above recommended dose), and observed at 3 different ages, ie 8, 9 and 10 months after planting (MAP). The design was arranged by Split-split Plot Design with 3 replications. Measurement of production parameters was done at 8, 9, and 10 months after planting (MAP). The genotype shows significant difference in yield, the Malaysian genotype has the highest yield of 6.68 kg/tree, followed by Adira-1 (5.69 kg/tree) and Merah (5.08 kg/tree). Cassava harvested 8 MAP shows significant difference with those in 9 and 10 MAP, but 9 MAP has not significant difference with 10 MAP, so harvesting should be done at 9 BST. At 10 months of harvest age each genotype was measured the resulting MOCAF levels. The Malaysian genotype was able to produce 0.38 ± 0.02%, Merah/Gondoruwo (0.35 ± 0.03%) and Adira-1 (0.33 ± 0.04%) which was not statistically significant different.
