    Penyisihan Mangan (Mn) Menggunakan Zeolit Teraktivasi Asam Fosfat

    Abstract
    Rapid population growth in Indonesia, particularly in big cities will encourage housing needs as well as the needs of clean water. Not all water can be used by living being, particularly humans. Utilization of surface water is also increased in the community, but metal removal technology is needed. One of the techniques that able to eliminate metal content is the adsorption process. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the removal of Manganese (Mn) in synthetic water which processed using the adsorption method with zeolite as an adsorbent both in terms of dose and contact time. The research method used is quantitative methods with variable changes, namely contact time and absorbent dose. This research was conducted using synthetic water containing metal elements, namely Manganese (Mn). The calculation method was carried out according to the isotherm equilibrium method. The results showed the variation of contact time with the same adsorbent dose of 0.3gram, so that the optimum time was 30 minutes with capacity manganese adsorption of 8.92135 mg / g while the dose of adsorbent was used the optimum contact time is 30 minutes so it was found that the optimal dose of adsorbent 0.3 gram which is the highest increase in adsorption capacity. The efficiency of manganese removal at optimum contact time is 88.6814%. In the variation of the adsorbent dose obtained the greatest manganese removal efficiency of 90.57% at a dose of 0.5 gr by modeling the adsorption isotherm that represents manganese adsorption is the Freundlich isotherm model.
     
    Pertumbuhan penduduk yang pesat di Indonesia khususnya di kota-kota besar akan mendorong kebutuhan perumahan serta pemenuhan kebutuhan air bersih. Tidak semua air dapat digunakan oleh makhluk hidup, terutama manusia.Penggunaan air permukaan juga semakin banyak di masyarakat namun dibutuhkan teknologi penyisihan kadar logam. Salah satu teknik yang memungkinkan untuk menyisihkan kandungan logam adalah proses adsorpsi.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas penyisihan Mangan (Mn) pada air sintetik yang diolah menggunakan metode adsorpsi dengan zeolite sebagai adsorben baik dari segi dosis dan waktu kontak.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan variable berubah yaitu waktu kontak dan dosis absorben. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan air sintetik yang mengandung unsur logam yaitu Mangan (Mn).Metode perhitungan dilakukan sesuai metode kesetimbangan isotherm..Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengujian variasi waktu kontak digunakan dosis adsorben yang sama yaitu 0,3gr sehingga didapat waktu optimum yaitu 30 menit dengan kapasitas adsorpsi mangan sebesar 8,92135 mg/g adapun dosis adsorben digunakan waktu kontak optimum yaitu 30 menit sehingga didapat bahwa dosis optimal adsorben 0,3 gram yang merupakan peningkatan kapasitas adsorpsi yang tertinggi. Efisiensi penyisihan mangan pada waktu kontak optimum yaitu sebesar 88,6814%. Pada variasi dosis adsorben didapat efisiensi penyisihan mangan terbesar sebesar 90,57% pada dosis 0,5 gr dengan pemodelan isoterm adsorpsi yang mewakili adsorpsi mangan adalah model isoterm Langmuir.
