    Abstract
Loquat (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl) is a plant which have potential to be anticancer. Bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, tannins and steroids/terpenoids have been isolated from loquat leaves which is believed to have its role as anticancer substance. This study aims to determine effectivity from loquat leaves on cell cancer activity in mammae tissue of rats induced by benzo(α)pyrene in vivo assay. Tested animal were used white rats aged 8-11 weeks old with body weight in 200-250 g and loquat leaves were extracted using methanol solvent by maceration method. The research designed was a Completely Randomized Design, with 5 treatment and 6 replication each consists of negative control (without induced benzo(α)pyrene), positive control (induced benzo(α)pyrene at a dose of 50 mg/kg BW), and treatment group were induced benzo(α)pyrene 50 mg/kg BW and given loquat extract consecutive dose 200; 300 and 400 mg/kg BW. Result showed that morphologically, the treatment of loquat extract had not shown a significant effect on the weight and volume of mammae tissue after induced cancer. Histologically, loquat extract with dose 400 mg/kg BW showed significant effect to reduce size of diameter ductus and average value of AgNOR in mammae tissue. This study determine that loquat extract has potential as an anticancer.
