dc.description.abstract | Latar Belakang : Melasma merupakan gangguan pigmentasi yang didapat dengan karakteristik makula hiperpigmentasi yang simetris pada wajah pada daerah yang sering terpapar sinar matahari. Paparan sinar matahari yang lama dapat mencetuskan stres oksidatif yang akan merangsang melanogenesis. Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) merupakan salah satu antioksidan yang dapat menghambat stres oksidatif sehingga diharapkan dapat menghambat munculnya melasma.
Tujuan : Mengetahui hubungan derajat keparahan melasma yang dihitung berdasarkan Melasma Area and Severity Index (MASI).dengan kadar SOD plasma.
Metode : Penelitian analitik observasional dengan menggunakan rancangan studi potong lintang (cross sectional) pada 60 subyek wanita dengan melasma di sub bagian kosmetik medik Ilmu Kesehatan Kulit dan Kelamin RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan yang dimulai bulan November 2019. Subjek yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dilakukan pengambilan sampel darah vena dan penghitungan derajat keparahan melasma dengan skor MASI. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan SPSS 16 for windows dengan Uji ANOVA. Kemaknaan uji statistik adalah bila p<0,05. Uji Pearson Correlation Kemaknaan uji statistik p>0,05.
Hasil : Jumlah subyek melasma sebanyak 60 orang dengan rentang usia 26-63 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara lamanya menderita melasma dengan kadar SOD plasma (p>0,05) namun dijumpai perbedaan yang signifikan antara derajat keparahan melasma dengan kadar SOD plasma (p<0,05).
Kesimpulan : Terdapat hubungan kadar SOD plasma dengan derajat keparahan melasma dimana makin tingggi kadar serum SOD plasma makin berat derajat keparahan melasma. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Background : Melasma is a pigmentation disorder that is characterized by symmetrical hyperpigmented macules on the face in areas that are often exposed to sunlight. Exposure of long period of sunlight can trigger the oxidative stress that can stimulate melanogenesis. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) is an antioxidant that can inhibit the oxidative stress and as expected can inhibit the melasma lesion.
Objective: This study aimed to determine the correlation between plasma levels of SOD to the severity of melasma that is calculated based on Melasma Area and Severity Index (MASI).
Methods : This research was an observational analytical study with cross sectional design included 60 female subjects with melasma and non melasma in Dermatology and Venereology Department, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan, held in November 2019. Samples that meet the inclusion criteria then venous blood samples were taken and the severity of melasma using MASI score was calculated. Data were analyzed with SPSS 16 for windows with ANOVA test. Statistical significance of the result based on p<0.05. Uji Pearson Correlation test result based on p>0,05
Results : This study included 60 melasma subjects with range age between 26-63 years. The results showed no significant relationship between the length of suffering from melasma with plasma SOD levels (p> 0.05) but found a significant difference in plasma SOD levels with the severity of melasma (p <0.05).
Conclusions : There is a positive correlation between serum SOD plasma levels with the severity of melasma where the higher the plasma SOD serum level the heavier the melasma severity | en_US |
