    Abstract
    Phosphate is ion polyatomic or consists of one phosphorus and four oxygen atoms. The P element in phosphate is (Phosphorus) which is very useful for plants to increase growth, growth, growth, flowering, cooking seeds and fruit. Included in water as a mixture of orthophosphate, polyphosphate and organic phosphate. Each phosphate composition is in the form of dissolved, suspended or collected in various cultures in water. Phosphate levels have been analyzed at PT SUCOFINDO Medan with UV-Visible spectrophotometry with a wavelength of 880 nm. The phosphate content of the obtained phosphate wastewater is upstream of about 0.227 mg / L, downstream of about 1.837 mg / L.
     
    Fosfat adalah sebuah ionpoliatomikatauterdiri dari satuatom fosforus dan empat oksigen.Unsur P dalam phospat adalah (Fosfor)sangat berguna bagi tumbuhan karenaberfungsi untuk merangsangpertumbuhan akar terutama pada awal-awal pertumbuhan, mempercepatpembungaan, pemasakan biji dan buah.Fosfat terdapat dalam air limbah sebagai senyawa ortofosfat, polifosfat dan fosfat organis. Setiap senyawa fosfat tersebut terdapat dalam bentuk terlarut, tersuspensi atau terikat di dalam sel organisme dalam air.Telahdianalisis kadar fosfat di PT SUCOFINDO Medan secara spektrofotometri UV-Visible dengan panjang gelombang 880 nm. Kadar fosfat kadarfosfat air limbah yang di peroleh yaitu Hulu sekitar 0,227 mg/L,Hilir sekitar 1,837 mg/L.
