A Description of The Main Characters in Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita Novel

Abstract

The title of this paper is “A Description of The Main Characters in Vladimir Nabokov‟s Lolita Novel” discusses about the description of the main characters which are Humbert Humbert and Lolita, based on physical appearance of the main character, social status on the main characters, personality of the main character and social relationship of the main characters. The main source data for this paper is taken from the quotations of the novel by Vladimir Nabokov‟s Lolita. On this paper the writer‟s used the descriptive qualitative method and use library research and also from internet to get some information related the novel. The conclusion in this novel is Humbert Humbert as the first main characters is pedophilia he only likes girls in 9 until 14 years old. Lolita as the second main characters is the object of Humbert‟s love.

Kertas karya yang berjudul “A Description of The Main Characters in Vladimir Nabokov‟s Lolita Novel” membahas tentang karakter utama dalam novel Lolita yaitu Humbert Humbert dan Lolita seperti penampilan fisik, penampilan kepribadian, penampilan status sosial dan penampilan hubungan sosial. Sumber data utama dalam penulisan kertas karya ini diambil dari novel Vladimir Nabokov‟s yang berjudul Lolita. Kertas karya ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan penelitian perpustakaan dan juga mengambil informasi dari internet yang berhubungan dengan novel Lolita. Kesimpulan karakter utama dalam novel ini adalah Humbert Humbert seorang pedophilia yang menyukai gadis gadis kecil yang berumur 9 sampai 14 tahun. Sedangkan Lolita sebagai objek nafsu Humbert.
