Aktivitas Bermain Game Online Mobile Legend dan Gaya Komunikasi Pelajar Saat Bermain (Studi Korelasional Mengenai Hubungan Aktivitas Bermain Game Online Mobile Legend dengan Gaya Komunikasi Saat Bermain Pada Kalangan Siswa SMAS Methodist-1 Medan)

Abstract

This thesis is entitled Mobile Legend Online Game Playing Activities and Student Communication Styles when Playing (Correlational Studies Regarding the Relationship between Mobile Legend Online Game Playing Activities and Communication Styles when Playing the Students at SMAS Methodist-1 Medan). This study aims to determine how much the relationship between the activities of playing Mobile Legend online games with communication style when playing among Medan Methodist-1 High School students. The theory used in this research is communication theory, mass communication, new media, internet, games, communication style. The research method used is the correlational study research method looking for the relationship between the variable x (the activity of playing Mobile Legend online games among students at SMAS Methodist-1 Medan) and the variable y (the style of communication when playing the online game Mobile Legend among students at SMAS Methodist-1 Medan). The sampling technique used was proportionate stratified sampling and simple random sampling. The research data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to 72 respondents, namely students of SMAS Methodist-1 Medan who played Mobile Legend. The data analysis technique used is single table analysis, cross-table analysis, and hypothesis testing using the Spearman's Rho Rank- Order Correlation formula using the SPSS 22 application obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.310. Based on the Guilford scale used, the coefficient shows a fairly low but definite correlation with the power of influence (D) between variables X and Y, namely 9.6%.

Skripsi ini berjudul Aktivitas Bermain Game Online Mobile Legend dan Gaya Komunikasi saat Bermain Pelajar (Studi Korelasional Mengenai Hubungan Aktivitas Bermain Game Online Mobile Legend dengan Gaya Komunikasi Saat Bermain Pada Kalangan Siswa SMAS Methodist-1 Medan). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar hubungan aktivitas bermain game online Mobile Legend dengan gaya komunikasi saat bermain pada kalangan siswa SMAS Methodist-1 Medan. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori komunikasi, komunikasi massa, new media, internet, game, gaya komunikasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian studi korelasional mencari hubungan antara variabel x (aktivitas bermain game online Mobile Legend pada kalangan siswa SMAS Methodist-1 Medan) dengan variabel y (gaya komunikasi saat bermain game online Mobile Legend pada kalangan siswa SMAS Methodist-1 Medan). Teknik penarikan sampel yang digunakan adalah sampel proportionate stratified sampling dan simple random sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan membagikan kuesioner kepada 72 responden yaitu siswa/siswi SMAS Methodist-1 Medan yang bermain Mobile Legend. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis tabel tunggal, analisis tabel silang, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan rumus Spearman’s Rho Rank-Order Correlation dengan menggunakan aplikasi SPSS 22 diperoleh koefisien korelasi 0,310. Berdasarkan skala Guilford yang digunakan, koefisien tersebut menunjukkan korelasi yang cukup rendah tapi pasti dengan kekuatan pengaruh (D) antara variabel X dan Y yaitu 9.6%.
