    Abstract
The aims of the study are to find out the lexical and syntactical errors in writing the English paper abstracts, to analyze the implication of lexical and syntactical errors which occur in the English paper abstract, and to find out why the students make the lexical and syntactical errors in writing the English paper abstract of the Accounting Department Students of Polmed. The primary data are all the words, phrases, and sentences in the student’s paper of English abstract in the 2019 Period. The method applied was the qualitative method. The result of the research revealed two types of errors in semantic error in lexis: Confusion of sense relation error, and collocational error which the most frequently found error is confusion of sense relation error 20 (62,50%). The research also found five errors: Omission, addition, misformation, misordering, and blends. The most common found error is misformation 62 (40.79%). The result also shows two implications of the errors: Local impact and Global Impact. The most common impact found in the data is Local Impact:139 (75,54%). Sources of error which divided into four types: Interlingual transfer, Intralingual transfer, Communication Strategy Based Error, and Induced Error. This research concludes that the students tend to make all error types in terms either or both of semantic error in lexis covering Confusion of sense relations error and collocational error, and surface strategy taxonomy covering omission, addition, misformation, misordering, and blends.
