    Analisis Kinerja Metode Queue Tree dan Filtering Layer 7 untuk Meningkatkan Efektifitas Manajemen Bandwidth pada Jaringan 802.3

    Abstract
    Bandwidth management on the network at the Islamic University of North Sumatra needs to be adjusted further. The existing queuing method is very simple and is not efficient as it does not use any specific methods. The impact of bandwidth distribution is not well structured as there is no guarantee of a definite bandwidth allocation in each client when there are many users and heavy traffic, then fellow internet users overlap so that the tendency for bandwidth acquisition dominates over certain clients (uneven), then filtering data patterns such as streaming traffic and certain websites are easy to access, opening up opportunities for waste of bandwidth usage. The solutions of cases like this have been done by previous researchers but have not been effective enough if implemented in large campus networks such as UISU. Thus this research will develop using a combination of queue tree methods by utilizing traffic priority, Commited Information Rate / Maximum Information Rate and Layer 7 Protocol Filtering methods to define certain data patterns in the url text in order to save bandwidth usage. As a result the effectiveness of the queue tree method was analyzed using the parameter average value (avg rate) on the OS microtic router with an average yield of 2mbps for upload/download traffic and the acquisition of an average CIR bandwidth guarantee of 250 kbps on each client, then the ICMP results has a delay of 20 ms <150 ms with a very good latency category, jitter gets a value of 16 ms to 20 ms with a good degradation category, then 0% packet loss is a very good degradation category on each client. These results meet the TIPHON value standard, while the results of the effectiveness of the Layer 7 router filtering method can define certain data patterns in the URL text so as to save the available bandwidth of 20 Mbps without eliminating the CIR guarantee on each client.
     
    Manajemen bandwidth pada jaringan di Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara (UISU) perlu dilakukan pendalaman manajemen bandwidth lebih lanjut. Metode antrian yang ada sangat sederhana dan penggunaan bandwidth kurang efisien karena tidak menggunakan metode khusus. Dampaknya pembagian bandwidth tidak lebih terstruktur karena tidak terdapat jaminan perolehan bandwidth yang pasti disetiap client ketika pengguna/trafik padat. Kemudian setiap client saling tumpang tindih, sehingga kecenderungan perolehan bandwidth lebih mendominasi pada beberapa client tertentu saja (tidak merata), Selain itu penyaringan pola data seperti trafik streaming maupun website tertentu mudah diakses sehingga membuka peluang pemborosan penggunaan bandwidth. Adapun solusi dari kasus seperti ini sudah dilakukan oleh peneliti terdahulu namun belum cukup efektif jika diterapkan dijaringan kampus yang besar seperti UISU. Dengan demikian penelitian ini fokus menggunakan kombinasi metode queue tree dengan memanfaatkan trafic priority, commited information rate/maximum information rate dan metode Filtering layer 7 Protocol untuk menedefinisikan pola data tertentu pada text url agar menghemat penggunaan bandwidth. Sebagai hasilnya, efektifitas metode queue tree dianalisis menggunakan parameter nilai rata-rata (avg rate) pada router mikrotik OS dengan hasil rata-rata 2 mbps untuk trafik upload/download dan perolehan jaminan bandwidth CIR rata-rata 250 kbps disetap client. Hasil uji ICMP memiliki delay 20 ms dan termasuk dalam kategori latensi sangat baik. Jitter mendapat nilai 16 ms sampai 20 ms dengan kategori degradasi bagus. Kemudian packet loss 0 % berada dalam kategori degradasi sangat baik disetiap client. Hasil ini memenuhi standar nilai TIPHON. Sedangkan hasil efektifitas metode filtering layer 7 router dapat mendevinisikan pola data tertentu di text url sehingga menghemat bandwidth yang tersedia 20 mbps tanpa menghilangkan jaminan CIR disetiap client.
