The functions of illocutionary acts found in American Idol 2019 are: 1 (1.31%) declarations that have a 'naming' function, 1 (1.31%) declarations that have a 'declaring' function, 4 (5.26%) ) representatives who have the 'asserting' function, 7 (9.21%) representatives who have the 'informing' function, 4 (5.26%) expressives who have the 'complimenting' function, 25 (33.89%) 'thanking', 22 (28.94%) expressives which have 'apologizing' function, 2 (2.63%) directives which have 'commanding' function, 3 (3.94%) directives which have 'requesting' function, 3 (3.94%) directives which have a 'suggesting' function, 2 (2.63%) directives which have a 'forbidding' function, ordering 1 (1.31%) directives which have a 'ordering' function, and the last one is 1 (1.31%) commisives that have a 'promising' function. The most dominant type of illocutionary act spoken on American Idol 2019 is expressives with a complimenting function. This implies that people who took part in the Amrican Idol 2019 event made many praising statements, saying thank you when the event was taking place.
