    Abstract
Background : Stroke are ussually characterized by their etiology and affected brain territory defined by vascular supply. Recent finding suggest that stroke etiology of anterior circulation stroke (ACS) and posterior circulation stroke (PCS) are more alike than similar. But posterior circulation are considered by some as a condition with high morbidity and mortality. Objective : To compare the outcome in different type of stroke according to cerebral vascular region, ACS and PCS. Methods : This cross sectional study with 52 subjects were devided into ACS and PCS by Head Ct-scan. All subjects were analysed by modified Rankin Scale (mRS) and Barthel Index (BI). Results : Subjects with ACS and PCS did not differ in terms of demographic characteristics. Mean age in ACS was 54,82 ±7,684 and PCS was 53,42 ±9,614 years. Prevalence of vascular risk factors like hypertension in ACS 85,7% and PCS 91,7% (p=0,674), diabetes melitus in ACS 25% and PCS 12,5% (p=0,309), coronary heart disease in ACS 7,1% and PCS 8,3% (p=1,000), smoking in ACS 14,3% and PCS 4,2% (p=0,3580 and dyslipidemia in ACS 14,3% and PCS 4,2% (p=0,309). Of all vascular risk factors, there is insignificant differ between ACS and PCS. The proportion of subjects with good clinical outcome (mRS and BI) insignificant differ in two groups (p>0,05). Conclusion : Outcome are insignificant differ in ACS and PCS.
