Immunoekxpression of p63 on Inverted Papilloma and Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Sinonasal Region (The Research Result) Agussalim, Rizalina A. Asnir, Farhat, Harry A. Asroel Ear, Nose, and Throat – Head and Neck Surgery Department of Medical Faculty of North Sumatera University / H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan Abstract Sometimes squamous cell carcinoma of sinonasal region is very difficult distinguish with inverted papilloma which is malignant precursor lesion in the sinonasal by histopathologically with Haematoxyllin Eosin staining. And sometimes a common mistake in diagnosing squamous cell carcinoma with adenocarcinoma. Necessary to distinguish a more accurate stain, such as p63 immunohistochemistry. The purpose of this research is to prove distinctive of p63 immunohistochemsitry expression among inverted papilloma and squamous cell carcinoma. This research constitute descriptive reasearch. Observational sample contain 50 paraffin blocks of inverted papilloma and squamous cell carcinoma from biopsy have been diagnosed by Hematoxyllin Eosin staining. It has not significant difference of 63 expression among inverted papilloma and squamous cell carcinoma (p>0,05) which p63 expression was found in both cases.
