    Abstract
    This present thesis applies an study analitycal research about correlation sintering temperature with the characteristic of cordierite ceramic mechanic by simulation with mathematica 5.1 programs. The simulation research variables are the sintering temperature 1200, 1250, 1300 and 1350 0C the next step was mixed with 10,15, 20,25 and 30 % (weight) of wood powder. The research parameter is the density, porosity, Vickers hardness and bending strength. The result of then simulation shows that with the 20% (weight) of wood powder composition and sintering temperature 1300 0C produce density value of 0,97 g/cm3 and the porosity about 60,11% is the best condition close literature value. At the sintering temperature 1300 0C and the 20% (weight) of wood powder composition yields the Vickers hardness value of 0,94 GPa and the breakable strength of 1,22 MPa. From the comparations of the simulation and experiment it is concluded that the analysis through simulations of density, porosity, vicker hardness and bending strength yield the constant changes as the effect of the rise in the constant sintering temperature and it can be analyzed by applying the less rising temperature interval.
     
    Telah dilakukan penelitian studi analisis tentang hubungan suhu sintering terhadap karakter keramik berpori cordierite (2MgO.2Al2O3.5SiO2) secara simulasi dengan program mathematica 5.1. Variabel penelitian simulasi ini adalah suhu sintering 1200, 1250, 1300 dan 1350 0C selanjutnya dicampur dengan serbuk kayu sebesar 10, 15, 20, 25 dan 30 % berat. Parameter penelitian ini adalah densitas, porositas, kekerasan dan kekuatan patah. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa dengan komposisi 20% serbuk kayu dan suhu sintering 1300 0C menghasilkan nilai densitas 0,97 g/cm3 dan porositas 60,11% merupakan kondisi terbaik yang mendekati nilai literatur. Pada suhu sintering 1300 0C dengan komposisi 20% serbuk kayu menghasilkan nilai kekerasan 0,94 GPa dan kekuatan patah 1,22 MPa. Dari perbandingan hasil simulasi dan eksperimen dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui analisis simulasi untuk densitas, porositas, kekerasan dan kekuatan patah dapat diperoleh perubahan yang konstan akibat kenaikan suhu sintering yang konstan dan dapat juga dianalisis dengan interval kenaikan suhu yang lebih kecil.
