    Pembuatan Beton Semen Polimer Berbasis Sampah Rumah Tangga dan Karakterisasinya

    Abstract
    The making of structural light weight concrete of structural material has been done based on: garbage (organic municipal waste), sand, cement, and latex resin. The variation compositions of garbage were: 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100 % (in % volume) with the addition of latex resin: 10, 12, and 14 % (in % volume), while the ageing time is set up in constant time characterization at 28 days. The dimension sample tests were made in two types of bodies that are rigid cylinder and beam. The test parameter cover: density, water absorption, shrinkage, bending strength, tensile strength, flexural strength, thermal conductivity and microstructure analysis by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) method. From the result indicates that the light weight concrete with the composition at variation of 25 % volume of garbage and 12 % volume of latex, ageing time at 28 days is the best result (optimum condition). From the best compositions, the concrete have the following material properties, namely: density = 1.46 g/cm3, water absorption = 26.7 %, shrinkage = 0.143 %, bending strength = 7.10 MPa, tensile strength = 2.10 MPa, flexural strength = 2.67 MPa and thermal conductivity = 0.342 W/moK. The microstructure analysis by SEM indicates that the pores inside the concrete are not homogen with particle size about 2 - 40 ?m. Also the garbage particle size can reach length until 5 ?m, and for other constituents such as sand and latex resin can reach 10 ?m.
     
    Telah dilakukan pembuatan beton untuk material konstruksi ringan struktural dengan bahan baku berbasis: sampah organik dari rumah tangga, pasir, semen, dan resin lateks. Variasi komposisi sampah antara lain: 0, 25, 50, 75, dan 100 % (dalam % volume) serta penambahan resin lateks: 10, 12, dan 14 % (dalam % volume), sedangkan waktu pengeringan dibuat tetap yaitu selama 28 hari. Dimensi sampel uji yang dibuat dalam dua bentuk, yaitu silinder rigid dan balok. Parameter pengujian yang dilakukan, meliputi: densitas, penyerapan air, penyusutan, kuat tekan, kuat tarik, kuat patah, konduktivitas termal dan analisa mikrostruktur dengan Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Dari hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa beton yang dihasilkan pada komposisi 25 % (volume) sampah, 12 % (volume) lateks dan waktu pengeringan selama 28 hari merupakan hasil yang optimum. Pada komposisi tersebut, beton yang dihasilkan memiliki karakteristik, sebagai berikut: densitas = 1,46 g/cm3, penyerapan air = 26,70 %, penyusutan = 0,143 %, kuat tekan = 7,10 MPa, kuat tarik = 2,10 Mpa, kuat patah = 2,67 Mpa dan konduktivitas termal = 0,342 W/moK. Hasil analisa struktur mikro dengan SEM menunjukkan bahwa rongga-ronga di dalam beton terdistribusi tidak merata dengan ukuran sekitar 2 - 40 ?m. Ukuran partikel sampah mencapai 5 ?m, gumpalan pasir dan resin lateks mencapai berkisar 10 ?m.
