    Pembuatan Keramik Berpori dari Limbah Padat Pulp dengan Aditif Kaolin Sebagai Filter Gas Buang

    Abstract
    Nowadays the negative effect of the air pollution by exhaust gas take at high level seriously. This case can be disturb mankind healthy. This research want to find an altenative way to solve this problem. Porous ceramic by main materials of pulp solid waste as grit, dreg, and biosludge from Toba Pulp Lestari, Tbk with additif of kaolin from Bandar Pulau village - Asahan – Province of North Sumatera has been made. Gas filter which has been made can decrease pollution succesfully by gasolin (C6H12) exhaust gas with absorbtion gas is 36,21 – 97,14% CO, 25,64 – 95,97% CO2, and 36,47 – 87,87% HC, against to other gas, O2 increase from 400,72 – 1264,03%. Characteristic of the porous ceramik has been studied is shrinkage mass 17,77 – 32,10%, shrinkage combustion 1,97 – 4,07%, density 1,14 – 1,20% , porousity 27,96 –54,27%, compressive strength 0,98 – 69,58 MPa, impact strength 1,49 x 10-2 – 4,05 x 10-2 MPa, hardness 87 – 127 MPa.
     
    Sekarang ini efek negatif dari polusi udara yang disebabkan oleh gas buang kenderaan bermotor telah pada keadaan yang mencemaskan. Pencemaran ini dapat mengancam kesehatan umat manusia. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menemukan suatu alternatif untuk membantu mengatasi masalah ini. Keramik berpori dengan bahan dasar limbah padat pulp yaitu grit, dreg dan biosludge diperoleh dari PT. Toba Pulp Lestari, Tbk dengan aditif kaolin dari Desa Bandar Pulau – Asahan – Prov. Sumatatera Utara. Filter gas buang yang dibuat berhasil mengurangi polusi udara yang diakibatkan gas buang kenderaan bermotor berbahan bakar bensin (C6H12) dengan absorbsi gas sebesar sebesar 36,21 – 97,14% CO, 25,64 – 95,97% CO2, dan 36,47 – 87,87% HC. Karakteistik keramik yang telah diuji memiliki yaitu susut massa 17,77 – 32,10%. %, susut bakar 1,97 – 4,07%, densitas 1,14 – 1,20% , porositas 27,96 –54,27%, kuat tekan 0,98 – 69,58 MPa, kuat pukul 1,49 x 10-2 – 4,05 x 10-2 MPa, kekerasan 87 – 127 MPa.
