Background : Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) is the terminology used to describe the various procedures for mechanical work to improve myocardial perfusion (flow) without doing surgery. AT is one of the engineering laboratories to monitor sensitive thrombus/fibrin formation. The value is increased when there is the formation of fibrin in both local and systemic activity of inhibition in compensation against Thrombin. Objectives : To find out if the stent did PCI and installation in laboratories can prevent thrombus/fibrin formation. Methods : During the period September 2012 to November 2012 has done a research quasi-experiments on Department of clinical pathology and the Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine, Faculty of medicine University of North Sumatra/RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan. The case is the Group of patients undergoing elective PCI by a specialist cardiology. After fulfilling the criteria of inclusion, this group then conducted the confirmation with the test levels of AT activity 1 hour before PCI and 4 hour after PCI. Results : Levels AT activity between group before PCI and after PCI entirely (p<0.05). For levels AT activity between group before PCI and after PCI taking DES (p>0.05). While the level of AT activity the group before PCI and after PCI who wear Metal Stents (p < 0.05). Conclusion : An increase in mean p < 0.05 of AT activity PCI patients on both the overall as well as the PCI use of metal stents. No meaningful increase p>0.05 of AT activity at PCI patients who use stents DES.en_US
