    Pengaruh Penambahan Al2TiO5 pada Pembuatan Keramik Al2O3 terhadap Sifat Fisis dan Mikrostrukturnya

    Abstract
    The Ceramic production of Al2O3 is conducted by addition of Al2TiO5 as the additive, the varieties of the addition can be 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, and 30% weight. From the results of the testing, analysis and observation are gained the optimal value that for the composition of 70% Al2O3 - 30% Al2TiO5 sintering temperature 1500 0C, gained the density of 3,69 gr/cm3 and the porosity of 0,12%, and the lowest thermal coefficient value expansion 3.10-6 0C-1 where as for the composition of 75% Al2O3 - 25% Al2TiO5 at temperature of sintering 1600 0C, are gained the hardship optimal value 1447 kgf/mm2. For the composition of 10% - 25% Al2TiO5 at sintering temperature 1600 0C the fracture strength increased from 1487 kgf/mm2 to 1779 kgf/mm2. The Analysis of XRD at the temperature 1500 0C for the compound of 10% - 15% Al2TiO5 showed the dominan phase Al2O3, mean while 20% - 30% Al2TiO5 tended to the dominan phase Al2TiO5, and the phase Al2O3 become minor. This condition is relevant to the observation of structure surface photo, the growth of the grain Al2TiO5 is very clear by the reduction of the porosity and the strength increases.
     
    Pembuatan keramik Al2O3 dilakukan dengan penambahan Al2TiO5 sebagai aditif, variasi penambahannya 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, dan 30% berat. Dari hasil pengujian, analisis dan pengamatan diperoleh nilai optimal bahwa untuk komposisi 70% Al2O3 – 30% Al2TiO5 suhu sintering 15000C, diperoleh densitas 3,69 gr/cm3 dan porositasnya 0,12%, serta nilai koefisien ekspansi termal terendah 3.10-6 0C-1 sedangkan untuk komposisi 75% Al2O3 – 25% Al2TiO5 pada suhu sintering 16000C, diperoleh nilai kekerasan yang optimal sebesar 1447 kgf/mm2. Untuk komposisi 10% - 25% Al2TiO5 pada suhu sintering 1600 0C kekuatan patah meningkat dari 1487 kgf/mm2 menjadi 1779 kgf/mm2. Analisis XRD pada suhu 1500 0C untuk campuran 10% – 15% Al2TiO5 menunjukkan fasa Al2O3 yang dominan, sedangkan 20% – 30% Al2TiO5 cenderung fasa Al2TiO5 yang dominan, dan fasa Al2O3 menjadi minor. Kondisi ini relevan dengan pengamatan foto permukaan struktur, pertumbuhan butiran Al2TiO5 sangat nyata dengan berkurangnya porositas dan bertambahnya kekuatan.
