    Pemanfaatan Limbah (Oil Sludge) sebagai Bahan Utama dalam Pembuatan Bata Konstruksi Paving Block

    Abstract
    Fabrication of Paving Block had been done using strict materials of aggregate, oil sludge of PT Pertamina Pangkalan Susu, in which cements and water glasses were used as addesive materials as well as sufficient water. The ratio between cements and water glass is 1:1, called A samples. Mean while the ratio between sludge and water is 4:1, called B samples. The shape of sample is cylindric sahape with diameter of 2,5 cm and thickness of 3,5 cm, after 28 days, those samples were tested to characterize their porosity, water absorption, pressure and hardnesss. The sample test of 8 cm length, 2 cm width, and 2 cm height the parameter of testing for impact. On the other hand, the samples of 16 x 4 x 4 cm³ in dimension were used to performe their bending strength. Based on the tests, the best composition of paving blok consists of sludge 60%, sand 15%, cement 12,5%, and water glasses 12,5%. These composition resulted a Paving Blok having characteristics as following: density : 2,00 gr/cm³; porosity 6,66%; water absorption 3,36%. Mechanical test for this sample gives pressure of 17,15 MPa, bending strength 5,10 MPa, impact 11,90 Joule and hardness 121 MPa.
     
    Pembuatan Paving Block telah dilakukan di mana materialnya berasal dari limbah PT Pertamina Pangkalan Susu yang terdiri dari aggregat oil sludge. Semen dan water glass secukupnya sebagai material perekat. Perbandingan antara semen dan water glass adalah 1 : 1 disebut bahan A sementara itu, perbandingan antara sludge dan pasir adalah 4 : 1 disebut bahan B. Bentuk sampel adalah silinder yang diameternya 2,5 cm dan ketebalan 3,5 cm. Setelah 28 hari, sampel tersebut diuji mengetahui porositas, daya serap air, tekanan, dan kekerasan, Sampel uji yang berukuran panjang 8 cm, lebar 2 cm, tinggi 2 cm parameter pengujiannya untuk uji impak. Sementara itu, sampel berukuran 16 x 4 x 4 cm³ digunakan untuk menguji bending strength. Berdasarkan pengujian tersebut, komposisi terbaik paving block terdiri dari sludge 60%, pasir 15%, semen 12,5% dan water glass 12,5%. Komposisi ini akan menghasilkan karekteristik paving block dengan densitas 2,00 gr/cm³, porositas 6,66%, daya serap air 3,36%. Sedangkan pengujian mekanik diperoleh tekanan 17,15 MPa, bending strength 5,10 MPa, impak 11,90 Joule dan kekerasan 121 MPa.
