    Abstract
Background and Purpose: Chronic pain syndrome (CPS) is a general complication found after stroke, for example central post stroke pain, shoulder pain or other specific pain. Chronic pain constantly found more than 3 months known as stroke consequences which will affect the stroke patient outcome. This research aims for knowing the relationship of post stroke CPS with MMSE score dan mRS score. Method : This research is a cross sectional study of post stroke patients which has CPS. Every subject graded for the pain intensity and asked to fill the questionairre to measure the chronic pain characteristics after stroke. Results : There is an insignificant very weak positive correlation between VAS score in CPS and MMSE score (r= 0.058 ; p=0.776); an insignificant very weak positive correlation between VAS score in CPS and mRS score (r=0.175 ; p=0.381) and also an insignificant very weak positive correlation between VAS score in CPS and location of the lesion. (r=0.077; p=0.704). There is an insignificant very weak positive correlation between VAS score in CPS and volume of the lesion (r=0.037; p=0.856). There is an insignificant very weak negative correlation between VAS score in CPS and duration of stroke. (r= -0.125; p=0.536). There is a significant strong negative correlation between MMSE score and mRS score ( r= -0.686; p=0.001) Conclusion: This study shows that there is positive very weak correlations and insignificant between CPS with cognitive function and functional outcome.
