dc.description.abstractThe research done making the composite particle board using the empty fruit bunches palm oil as filler and recycled low density polyethylene as a binder and use maleic anhibryda as an additive. In this study, used the composition of the empty fruit bunches palm oil : recycled low density polyethylene at 30:70, 40:60, 50:50, 60:40 and 70:30 and a comparison of 100% recycled low density polyethylene. Tests conducted to determine the physical and mechanical properties of this particle board, is the density, water content, the development of thickness, Modulus of Rupture (MOR), Modulus of Elasticity (MOE), internal bond strength, and strength of impact. From the test results indicated that the density value was obtained from 0.69 to 0.79 gr/cm3 , the value of water content obtained from 0.13 to 1.08%, development of thickness 2.87 to 4.54%, the value modulus of rufture (MOR ) gained 92.08 to 111.47 kgf/cm2 , modulus of elastic (MOE) 1418.44 to 3156.95 kgf/cm2 , strong value impact is obtained from 3.83 to 3.86 J/cm2 , the value of strength internal bond 2.21 to 6.60 kgf/cm2 .en_US
dc.description.abstractTelah dilakukan penelitian pembuatan papan partikel komposit berbahan baku tandan kosong kelapa sawit sebagai pengisi dengan menggunakan polietilena kerapatan rendah daur ulang sebagai pengikat serta menggunakan anhibryda maleat sebagai aditif. Dalam penelitian ini, digunakan komposisi antara serat tandan kosong kelapa sawit : polietilena kerapatan rendah daur ulang sebesar 30:70, 40:60, 50:50, 60:40 dan 70:30 serta pembanding 100% polietilena kerapatan rendah daur ulang. Pengujian yang dilakukan untuk mengetahui sifat fisis dan mekanis dari papan partikel ini, adalah kerapatan, kadar air, pengembangan tebal, Modulus of Rupture (MOR), Modulus of Elasticity (MOE), kuat rekat internal, dan kuat impak. Dari hasil pengujian ditunjukkan bahwa nilai kerapatan diperoleh 0,69– 0,79 gr/cm3 , nilai kadar air diperoleh 0,13 – 1,08 %, pengembangan tebal yaitu 2,87 – 4,54 %, nilai kuat lentur (MOR) diperoleh 92,08-111,47 kgf/cm2 , nilai modulus elastic (MOE) 1418,44 - 3156,95 kgf/cm2 , nilai kuat impak diperoleh 3,83 – 3,86 J/cm2 , nilai kuat rekat internal yaitu 2,21 – 6,60 kgf/cm2 .en_US
